You won’t be seeing PlayStation 2’s being sold unless you go to a rare and vintage console store.
Japan has decided to stop shipping PlayStation 2 consoles, effectively ending its 13-year life cycle.
Even after next-gen consoles arrived, the PlayStation 2 would continue to see titles ported back to its console.
It was also monumental as a secondary DVD player, for those who couldn’t afford the DVD player.
According to GameTrailers.com, 150 million units of the console were sold since its release back in 1999, as well as releasing over 10,000 games for its library, raking in more than 1 billion dollars.
So long, old friend. It’s been a pleasure playing with you…not to sound dirty.
